Apologies to Liverpool fans, but this Manchester United supporter would like to violate the terms of the goalkeeper's union by publicly thanking Pepe Reina for his shambolic display at Old Trafford. Though the Spanish keeper made several good saves to keep the scoreline slightly less embarrassing for the title pretenders, his failure to claim crosses aimed at the lethal Wes Brown (pictured) and the inevitable Ronaldo handed the points to United.
Naturally, it brought to mind two recent Jerzy Dudek clangers against United, when he gifted goals (and 3 points) to Wayne Rooney and Diego Forlan in recent years. Oh, Liverpool.
Meanwhile, in London, Arsenal's inevitable title collapse can in no way be blamed on Manuel Almunia. He played very well indeed at Stamford Bridge, but was ultimately left exposed by his tiring young side, who just don't appear to have the legs to see out the challenge. Sad for them, but Almunia should be credited for truly making the number one spot his own. Don't be surprised to see Wenger go after a bigger name next season, tho.
