New Brand to Watch

The goalkeeper glove market has been flooded with new brands in the last few years, some of them offering a quality product at affordable prices, some of them simply copying more established brands. But there is at least one new brand I am very excited about: Pro Ebiria.

The man behind the brand has done his homework. The gloves are smart and stylish and are definitely not copies of any other brand. They've got a stylish, slightly retro look about them, but looks don't mean much of the gloves don't perform.

I was given the opportunity to test several of their models, and the good news is they perform superbly. I'm picky about my gloves and have about 25 pairs at my disposal for any given game, so the fact that I've chosen to wear Pro Ebiria for several recent games speaks volumes about their performance. Their MegaloGrip latex is tacky after a prewash and grips wonderfully in dry to damp conditions, as does the Zeus wet-weather model. I haven't had the chance to test it in a real rainstorm, but am looking forward to it.

Pro Ebiria has a range of cuts, from rollfinger to negative cut to flat palm with internal latex. One of my favorite aspects of the gloves is the high quality of the mesh and fabric used in the body and gussets of the gloves. It feels like material you find on high end gloves from the biggest brands, but Pro Ebiria's pricing is going to be much more affordable.

Look for their website coming soon. Meanwhile, here's my video review of the negative cut MegaloGrip model.
