Farewell, Jens. Thanks for the insane memories

Love him, hate him, or really hate him, the Premiership is losing a genuine character in Jens Lehman. Following Sunday's game, the German keeper bid farewell to Arsenal after five eventful and largely successful years. A mainstay of the unbeaten 2003-04 title winners, his fortunes at Arsenal took a sharp downturn with clangers in back-to-back games early this season. Manuel Almunia took over, and to everybody's surprise, especially Lehman's, he played well enough to keep the job.
Jens is expected to be Germany's number one at Euro 2008. What happens thereafter is a mystery. He has said he'd like to join another club, but didn't rule out retirement.
With Lehman's departure following that of Jose Mourinho earlier in the season, one can't help but think the Premiership is getting a little less crazy - and fun - by the season.

You forgot to say that Lehman was a down right pain in the Arse

That's true. There was a time I hated him with all my being. But he grew on me, possibly during the world cup. He was just so mental, eventually all I could do was laugh.
